Hello,

Is there a virtual guitar in SONAR Pro?

Its easier to record when in libraries.

Thanks.

Do you mean a sampled guitar? Acoustic or electric? There are guitars in Rapture Session.

Strum Session has a really good virtual electric and acoustic done with physical modeling, but it's Platinum only. However it's available from AAS, as is Strum GS-2, which has more models.

Did Strum Session add electric models at some point or did I just never notice them? I thought they were acoustic only?

Strum acoustic sessions only has acoustic guitars.  Strum Sessions has a few electric guitars, click on bank.  Strum GS-2 has many different acoustic and electric guitars, again click on bank.

Good luck.

Strum was updated from Strum Acoustic to Strum Session 2 in June 2015 with an acoustic and electric model. Both have several presets with variations. Platinum only...and well worth checking out. I have the full version and it's pretty amazing as a virtual instrument, let alone as a "riff generator."

Will it make me a new and improved Smoke On The Water?

Simply invert a favorite Beethoven riff...at least thats what Ritchie claims he did. ;-)

Oops, haha I guess I will have to check that out. To be honest I wasn't blown away by the sound and I found the interface pretty cumbersome. Time to redouble my efforts, I could use a decent mock guitar for convenient writing.

Inexpensive, but quality acoustic, and electric guitar strum sample libraries.

+1 here on the sound. Especially the acoustics. There is just something about the tone and, oh, I cannot really put my finger on exactly what it is. But they do sound a bit "fakish". There are much better guitar sims out there. Sampletank 3 (acoustic) guitars are pretty decent imo.

The GS2 electric guitars are much better, fwiw
