Clearly I am doing something stupid.  If I select something besides tungsten - something where i can color the strips by type - and I save the file, when I come back - it has changed back to tungsten.  
 
I looked through my configuration file and i do not see themes in there.  is there some other default where it is saving?

Lens being used? You can configure it to recall theme.

You must either save the theme to the current lense - or configure your lense to not load its theme.

ahhh - the lenses.  i bet that is it!!!
