In order to get control of your entire mix, we recommend that the Console 1 plug-in is inserted on all tracks, buses and aux channels of the DAW project.

This is the description on how it works actually with most DAW's. But Softube announced a new kind of integration especially for Studio One and maybe they will use the Mix-FX plugin interface. This would make integration easier, because you have not to insert the plugin on all tracks, only on the Mix-FX master track.

That sounds a lot like speculation on your part. Can you post a link or something defining just what that means?

Softube commented on this integration on Gearslutz here
https://www.gearslutz.com/board/11853041-post48.html

"The Studio One integration currently does the following (details may still change):
- Selecting track in Studio One selects the corresponding track in Console 1.
- Selecting track in Console 1 (using the track selector buttons) selects the corresponding track in Studio One.
- Console 1's Output Volume controls the volume fader of the corresponding Studio One track. Holding Shift and adjusting Output Volume adjusts the output volume of the Console 1 plug-in.
- Pan knob controls controls the pan setting of the corresponding Studio One track.
- Solo and Mute buttons control Solo and Mute of the corresponding Studio One track.
- Holding Shift lets you use Drive, Drive Character and Pan/Balance knobs to control Send 1, 2 and 3 of the corresponding Studio One track."

I'm still not seeing any special integration with Studio One. Nowhere is Softube saying it uses Mix Engine FX.

Hi John,

So far Studio One is the only DAW where the channel selectors on the Console 1 also select the corresponding track in Studio 1.
So far Studio One is the only DAW where the channel selectors in Studio 1 also select the corresponding track in Console 1.
So far Studio One is the only DAW where Console 1's Output Volume controls the volume fader of the corresponding Studio One track.
The same goes for mute, solo, panning and volume.

All in all: With Studio 1, Console 1 becomes a fully integrated DAW controller.
In all other DAW's Console 1 only controls the Softube plugins loaded into Console 1 software.
With Studio, Console1 now also controls the DAW.
How is that not special?

The benefits are that it allows you to use your mouse even less. Which is what Console 1 is all about in the first place.

Special doesn't mean exclusively. Special to me in this context means: Only Studio One is able to do it so far. And to be honest: I'm a mixer, not technician. I don't care what technology they use to make it work, whether it is via VST to DAW communication, MIDI or this new Mix Engine FX thing. I care whether it works or not. ;)
Would be lovely to see these features in my favourite DAW (Sonar! ) as well.

I have all that with my Mackie Control. What I don't have is the control of plugins with the MC. However ACT can do that with a controller with lots of knobs and buttons.

Again, until Softube says it uses Mix FX its just speculation. It would seem to me if it did they would say so.

Hi John,

Could you please explain why the Mix FX thing is so important to you? I really don't understand it.

Also it is great for you that you have a Mackie Control. Seriously, I'd love to have one , too. But all I got is a Faderport.
So for me, having this Console 1 track selector integration would also make my Faderport more useful.

Also in regards to plug-in control: Have you used Console 1 so far?
No integration I have seen between Software is as tight and well done as Console 1. This is where it leaves other Controllers in the dust.

@Cakewalk: This could be something where the monthly update thing could really shine. Just saying ;)

Its not important to me. I think you need to reread all the posts I made on the Console 1 integration. From what I understand it is not ready to be used yet. They have only announced it.
