This is probably an easy one for the majority of you who have way more experience with Sonar.
I’m using Sonar Producer with 1 MIDI Controller (Alesis Q49)
The project has 2 Soft Synths (Superior Drummer and Native Instrument VSL Strings).
The controller triggers both the strings and the drums when playing the synth track.
I have tried setting different MIDI Channels on the Input for each synth with no change.

First check that you only have "Input Echo = On" for the desired tracks in the track view that you want to hear.  If you have more than one track selected for Input Echo, you will hear a layered sound from the associated soft synths.
