Welcome to the forum!
Do you see MIDI-activity in the track meters when you play the keyboard?
Have you set the MIDI-track to channel "omni" or some specific channel number? If the former,
the MIDI should go through, and you should hear the sound, if the track is active and "Input Echo" is on.
If the latter, you must set your keyboard to send on that specific channel number.
IIRC the keyboard should have "Local off" (??)
I recommend not using Simple Instrument Tracks in the learning phase, as separate MIDI and audio tracks give
you better understanding of how MIDI works. The MIDI-tracks meter shows MIDI-activity, the related audio track shows actual audio levels.
Im not sure i understand what track meters are... Sorry for the newb problem, but im really trying ^^U
Do you mean the interface/popup of the inserted synth? Then no, no sound no activation of the keys nothing
Im not sure how to set the channel to omni...i dont know what IIRC or the Local Off is
Im not sure how to use ...well...non-simple instrument tracks >_<
A lot of information i wish i had knoledge of but unfortunately I don't :/
If you don't mind helping I'd really appreciate it...

Welcome.
Have a look at my website..... music & recording.... MC4/5 and look up working with TTS... a soft synth. It explains it fairly well.
To insert a synth, look at the top tool bar in MC6 and find INSERT SYNTH... the user manual will help you locate things.
In the midi track, you choose the input method... your synth keyboard, from the available options. With the insert synth command, all the connections to make music and sound are set up automatically..... just the input needs to be selected.
Can you hear music that is in audio form from the tracks?
Well i inserted soft synths before, like i mentioned, it works well when i use normal settings and use the mouse to press on the virtual keys
The input method though
So far i've tried checking/activating MIDI source and/or synth track folder... yeah no sound and no sign of activation
My keyboard is detected and selected however in the preferences menu :/
But being a newb I keep asking myself if I'm doing something wrong.....
Am I supposed to change the Instruments settings in the Preferences submenu? All my keyboard's keys are "using instrument" <default>?
