Cakewalk by Bandlab is still officially an early release, so take that into account.  Personally I'm waiting until the final release comes out.

Never went for the early releases on Platinum updates, either.

v3.0.5 is rolling out but may take through Saturday to hit everybody.

Many thanks.

I downloaded the "latest" version and installed it, but it turned out to be the same version again, i.e. 3.0.4.

3.0.4 does not have the "check for updates" option, so you can't get 3.0.5 that way. You will have to re-download the app. However, last I checked, the download posted on their page was still 3.0.4. Try again tomorrow or next week.

My first version of BA was 3.0.3. BandLab pushed 3.0.4 later that day. I suspect 3.0.5 is being delivered the same way.

FYI, I just had an update pushed to me.
BA is now at v3.0.6

3.0.6 has the check for updates and a enable/disable launch at startup menu item.  Also looks like they added Bandlab Assistant to the update notice message box title (so you know what app needs updating).  All good stuff.

I'm not sure I like the forking off Powershell to modify (I'm guessing) the system, but I'm not sure there is much difference from them doing it themselves.  I wonder if some corporate environments would prevent that entirely?

When I run Bandlab Assistant, I get the following humorous error message:

Uncaught Exception:
Error: Can not find Squirrel

Boris and Natasha must be on the payroll. Next week, it'll be "Error: not Moose, either!"
