Does any one know how I can get my Red Rover control transport thingy to work with the latest Platinum? It always showed up in the list, now it's not there or I do something different to find it? I think X3 was the last time I used it.

Probably need to reinstall the X3 core program using the advanced install option to get the RedRover.dll installed.

Can I just put the redrover.dll in a place where sonar will see it or does it have to be "installed"? I have found where you can download it, but I don't know where to put it. Didn't really want to put X3 back on my new SSD

I am not sure but I believe regsvr32 must be run against the dll. It could not hurt to try copying it into "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces" and try to register it by hand. Otherwise running the installer and selecting the advanced option then minimal install will put the smallest amount of X3 on the PC. After installing you can manually delete the "SONAR X3" folders from Program Files, ProgramData and your user directory.

Or contact Cakewalk tech support and see if they have an alternate solution.

I'll try that. Either way I will try for a "SOLVED" ending to this

I have an X3 running on the laptop and found the redrover.dll and simply copied it to the shared surfaces directory  on the studio daw and it did not show in my preferences. There sure a bunch of controllers in the old X3 to choose from, now it's only a couple of Mackie control things. HMMMM....  If I do a core install of X3 on one of my other drives will Platinum see the other controllers?

I got this device working in Sonar Platinum by downloading and installing the Control Surface plugins executable from here:
