This has to do with midi offset but a little different. I will do my best to explain it although if you can explain it better please do .
On a specific track inside platinum i currently have to set my midi notes in this PRV window -10ms , this sends the notes out of platinum into a rewire and when i record the audio back into platinum they record exactly in time ( so the audio lands +10ms ahead of the midi notes ). Ok you with me so far
( keep in mind : rewire track 1 + Synth track 2 both have the exact same notes on there midi tracks )
My suggestion is that it is a PITA to do PRV manual Editing/Creation with ( Latency ) midi notes needing to be -10ms > and when i have these -10ms ( Rewire track 1 midi notes )opened in PRV with another (synth track 2 ) the midi notes on the synth track 2 are +10ms and although this way of latency compensation works it looks messy and is harder to edit because the audio from the rewire track is perfectly in line with synth track 2 midi + audio but the midi on the rewire track is -10ms against the syth track 2 midi notes .
what if we could have a offset in the PRV track pane on every midi track which offsets the grid resolution -100ms to +100ms
what i am thinking this will do is .
Platinum Rewire Midi Track 1 > PRV track pane Midi Track 1 > Grid Resolution -10ms = NOW when i draw a 1/4 midi note into this PRV track 1 > it will show on the PRV grid resolution butted up against the 1/4 grid line though the notes will actually be -10ms behind this 1/4 note grid line ! That should make sense ! Now the rewire midi track 1 + synth midi track 2 ( midi notes in PRV window 1 are in line with each other but secretly the track 1 has a -10ms offset.
So if you can move the grid lines back on a midi track in the prv window -10ms then draw a note in against a grid line it will then be -10ms to the rest of the midi tracks but still look perfectly in line with another 1/4 midi note from another midi track that has 0ms offset .
I am a little bit tired so i know what i am tring to say and i hope you can understand it . This would benefit everyone with midi latency issues in platinum by moving the notes back or forward to its midi track grid resolution keeping the notes and audio returning perfectly in sync with other tracks that have no latency .
If there is something that already exists that can fix this please let me know > Thanks
