So i had to reset my PC as i was having loads of small buggy things , Probably due to not doing a fresh install from windows 10 too creators update.
I am on the last but one latest release as this current one messes up one of my game (CsGo)
So i used the method on the sonar site to completely remove sonar and start fresh.
I installed it through command centre but every time i go to launch Sonar i get that error (SONARPLT.exe has stopped working)

I have not yet installed my audio box drivers but that is not even plugged in so i shouldn't imagine that would cause the problem.
I've tried running as admin and also holding shift ctrl while clicking but still get the error , I also tried disabling my other audio device (headset) but that did not help either.

When i launched Command centre i did not run that as Admin , I am unsure if that could be the problem or not but i don't think so.

I ahve also contacted Tech support but am still waiting on them and that could take ages unless they will remotely take control of my PC and sort it for me, So i am asking the good people here for any suggestions.

Many thanks

Personally I would have all aspects of the hardware working fully before I would try to install SONAR, including my intended sound card.

You could try starting SONAR in safe mode, hold down the shift key and click on the SONAR icon.  It may well still crash but as it loads it might give you a clue in the text readout as to what is causing the crash.

You think i should install my Audiobox drivers and try again  ? Do you think that would make a difference  ?

Is there a way to get a crash log of Sonar that may help the Tech people narrow it down  ?

Thanks

It is just a suggestion that if all the hardware is installed and know to be good it is one less thing to eliminate.

See this thread here from the problems report forum on how to grab a crash dump.

I get this occasionally but have no idea why. Appears to happen for no reason. Nothing in Task Manager to stop. Usually have to reboot the system to clear it.

You were right all along :) , I saw another thread on here where the answer was he had to install ASIO drivers, So i thought i would try completely removing Sonar and then install my Audiobox drivers and then try installing Sonar again.
Worked like a charm, I know i didn't do it that way around before but it makes sense really.
Thanks for the reply

I get this occasionally as well. It usually happens when I load a project from the Screen thingie. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does, I have to restart Sonar and it seems to be okay after that.
