Hi all, Sometimes it does but mostly the External Insert Plugin doesn't appear when right-clicking. Any reason why this might happen? Best

What do you try to right-click and where? 
Sometimes Windows may put windows outside screen. Try clicking External Insert open, then even if you don't see it, press Alt-Spacebar, then 'M' (Move).  Press any arrow key and after that move mouse. If window was outside screen, it will now come back.
Test moving a window with some visible one first if in doubt... 

Thanks for your reply panup!  I'll check this out. However, the plugin doesn't appear in the usual box with the other plugs i have on that track.

This did not work sadly.  I'm working with old session and some of them already have an External Insert yet I still can't add anymore. 

Can you add External Inserts at all to any projects?
Try to delete the old  External Insert instance and create a new one with same routing.

Update - So now External Inserts are opening as they should but now with a external plugin on the mix bus its causes midi to miss notes. I.e. programmed drums etc keep disappearing for a few beats. This is after a complete re-install of everything from Sonar to UAD-2 to lynx drivers etc

Check Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording > Prepare Using <value> Millisecond Buffers. It probably defaulted back to 250ms, which is too low for a lot of systems, and causes dropped notes. Try the old default of 500ms; that works well in most environments.

Where's the thanks button ?!? That did the trick, thank you! Last question - Why can I only opem sessions in 64 bit in Safe Mode? I say yes to all the plugins one bye one and it'll open and I can work with it but if I click yes to all it just hangs and doesn't nothing. (not responding in task manager). The same happens if I open it normally. I can start a new session without any problems.

cool - now i'm getting a few seconds of audio missing when I'm exporting...
