When i have Platinum and Ableton rewired > so platinum is sending Midi to ableton then ableton is sending audio to platinum , there is a bug where the audio ( does not come into platinum ) i can clearly see in ableton, the platinum midi track triggering the ableton track and that the output of audio at the end of the Ableton track chain is there ( little green lights)

I have to constantly hit play/stop repeatedly for it to reconnect the track ( this works eventually after 1 -10 space bar hits ) . There are already enough restrictions using rewire without having to deal with this !
Jack Audio is useless > just record something midi then audio and zoom in look around and run for your life ( No i am not talking about latency )

Can someone please help troubleshoot why the track is disconnecting and reconnecting totally at random ??
I have tried alot of small things  :
> run Ableton as admin or normal - nope
> in platinum selecting ( focusing select ) the audio track ( from Ableton ) in question then hit play - nope
> arming both Ableton + platinum tracks then hit  - nope
> focus select the midi track - nope
> and a lot more etc etc etc nothing will keep the audio coming into platinum constant

Any Ideas on what it could be and does any one else use rewire with another DAW that has a similar problem

I don't think SONAR is intended to be a ReWire client, only a ReWire host. Before the Matrix view I would rewire Live into SONAR and it worked fine.

Hi Anderson

I am using Platinum as the master .

Glad to hear it worked fine when u were using rewire, it gives me hope that it's something simple .

It's just a basic rewrire and the sync side of things is flawless. just the audio outputing from ableton track chain into sonar audio track cuts out very frequently and when it does, It does so to all of the track chains in ableton , and when this happens I have to hit the PC keyboard space bar to start and stop the transport quickly and eventually it re connects .

Anyways I will try today;

Run platinum as admin
Up the playback buffers
Found a post where Seth explains about registering the rewire dll
Turn off firewall
and anything I can find until I nail this I mean it's obviously something causing it the ? Is what

1) I open a new platinum project > insert fresh rewire > open existing Ableton project > works perfectly .

2) I re opened existing saved platinum project > removed Ableton rewire > inserted fresh Ableton rewire > opened existing ableton project > same problem > platinum project is corrupted !

Only thing to do now is transfer everything from platinum project to a new project >Damn.

Last thing i want to add to this post .

With the current rewire Platinum and Live9 i am exhausted as to why this is happening i have tried everything, and everyday ends up with the same problem even on 2 different PC's.

Lastly i have added reason 8 + fl studio 12 into the current (Plat + LIve rewire) and both reason and fl studio work flawlessly > that includes me routing reason and fl studio through the same chains as live in platinum .

I have noticed that when you add reason or fl studio as a rewire into platinum then click the corresponding midi clip ( reason or fl studio ) in platinum when it lands , it automatically opens reason and fl studio , where as with Ableton when you add it as a rewire into platinum and click the corresponding Ableton rewire midi clip it does not automatically open Ableton > you have to manually open Ableton , i wonder if this has anything to do with why this happens .

Please Cakewalk let us know you acknowledge this problem so we can look forward to a resolution .
