I read on this page what I needed to export MP3 from a track in Sonar, I have platinum. I paid for the MP3 extender, went to install it, and of course it is actually for much older versions of Cakewalk. It will not install with Sonar Platinum at least. Note this article is referring to X3, shouldn't have changed that much considering it tells you to go to the cakewalk site (from inside SP) to get full version still.

I don't know the answer to this. I use lame.

There are two versions of the mp3 unlock program. You may have purchased the old one. Contact Cakewalk Customer Service. They will supply you with the correct one.

Again, scook thank you :). It's the only one that came up on the shop :-/. 

I just checked they still have both at the store. Searching "Top Downloads" for "mp3" brought both up

The "More Info" for the one on the left (this is the current version, the info needs updating though)

And the one on the right (the old version)

Neither, there is no license fee any more. These products are no longer offered for sale. The integrated mp3 encoder was unlocked for everyone as of release 2017.04. Users with older versions of Cakewalk DAWs should contact support for the appropriate product.
