Hey Everyone,

I had my computer built for me through a company. I'm gonna ask them but I figured I'd ask in here too.

I currently have:

1) 128GB Kingston SSD OS Drive
2) 1TB Crucial SSD Sample Drive
3) 2TB Seagate SATA 6.0 Project Drive
and a variety of External Drives that I use.

My 1TB SSD seems to be failing and it's under warranty so I'm getting it replaced, so I figured at the same time, I might as well add some storage. I'm thinking about adding another regular SATA 6.0 drive rather than another SSD so I can go big, like 3TB or something. Any suggestions on brands/models to look for?

Thanks!

I've never been disappointed or let down by Western Digital - just avoid any sort of "green" drive.

Used to be green and none green drive to choose, but now you got blue and black too, both running at 7200rpm.

Blue is only up to 1TB, slightly faster in read and write, but with 2 years warranty.

Black is above 1TB (not sure there is a 1TB black) with 5 years warranty.

If you are going for 3TB, looks like the black WD drive will be the choice.

Edit : my info was out dated, as there are Blue drives above 1TB.

Edit 2 : however Blue above 1TB spins at 5900 rpm!! So watch out.
