I tried out the Adaptive Limiter on a small, completed, project that only had a singer and backup track.  When I added it to the singer I just get a 1000Hz (approx.) tone.   When I use it with the mixed project, everything sounds like its one octave low?????

I'm using the default limiter settings, although I tried other options and the same.  Its the only active VST on the track(s) I tried it on.

Maybe this is the Fix
Adaptive limiter sounds like ring modulator (solved??*)

Turning off 64 bit Double Precision fixed it.  Re-enabling as referenced in the other thread causes the tone generation again. I'll have to leave 64 bit off until the Bakers come up with a fix for this, if I want to use this limiter.

I'll have to leave 64 bit off

This tends to address a lot of odd plug-in behavior. I leave it off in Preferences and only enable the option on the export dialog.

I never noticed anything untoward although I will try this if I run into issues.

I don't do much with MIDI but I've always had 64 bit on and never ran into any plug in problems, except this Limiter.
