  • A Better Way to Delete Measures?

Hello Group--

I've got a couple of measures to delete (and the hole) yet I use comping for my mixes, and so I have a lot of audio tracks, midi tracks, and in the spot where I need to delete, there are spaces with no audio or midi.

I'm reading the manual, and in those cases it's telling me to use the Delete Special feature for the areas with data in the tracks, and manually slide over the audio (and midi) in the areas where there was no data in the track where the delete takes place.

Oh man. I really don't want to have to manually slide over all those comp tracks and try to get all the timing right again that's already where I want it. Is there an easier way? If not, can this be a future feature request?

Thanks much!

If you select the parent track and slide it over surely the comping inside the track doesn't change does it? (definitely a question, not a statement)

I would have thought that Delete Special would handle your situation.

Either way, please vote for improvements in this area by giving a thumbs up to this Feature Request:

You are correct in the all the take lanes will move over if you drag the 'parent' track.

I should have been clear that I don't want to have to manually drag any tracks over. I'd like all of the timing relationships between comp takes to stay where they're supposed to be when the delete hole takes place, regardless of whether there is any data in a track at the delete point or not.
