Hi,

I need to export a song to be sent to someone else, but the requirement is that it should be in Mp3 format, I saw in an old post that I can purchase an activation to do it but I can't find in Cakewalk's website where it is. Can you guys help me find it?

There is no fee for the mp3 encoder any more. Starting with release 2017.04 the built-in encoder should be available as an option in the Export dialog (set "Files of type" drop down to mp3). If you are running an older version and the unlock program is not already in your account, contact support to have the unlock program added.
 

You'll be pleased to hear that the SONAR 2017.04 update included the following information...

Sonar Artist, Professional, Platinum
MP3 export is now available in SONAR Artist, Professional, and Platinum at no charge. Recently the patent royalties associated with MP3 encoding expired. Cakewalk is excited to offer MP3 encoding free of charge in SONAR.

Just to clarify I bought Sonar Professional as a 1 time purchase with 1 year support which ended at 2017.01. Can I still get the mp3 exporting feature?

Contact support and ask for the mp3 unlock program. Cakewalk no longer sells it because there are no license fees to collect.
