I don't post much on here and love the softwear you guys make and sonar is my only daw. but why do we have to buy a pen to use touch? I would like to use my touchscreen monitor to move clips in track view and add notes in the prv. I'm sure you guys at cakewalk could add a button to change between zoom and touch and make it easier for all touch users. many thanks wayne

Hi. Are you having any issues with the Early Access Release regarding touch?
I do not have a touch screen, so I might be wrong.
I don't think you have to use / have a pen, just that there has been increased support for pen devices.

No I'm not having problems with the early release. I've had my touchscreen monitor for a while now and all other parts of sonar work with touch like the instruments and console but not the track view or prv. I would love for these parts to work as well as the rest of the program. but with the new release ive noticed I cant select a portion of the timeline anymore which is a bit of a pain.  

Have you tried to touch 2 points on the timeline? It should select the measures between the 2 points.
It's a new feature of .05, IIRC.

I need Trump Gloves to work with touch on my laptop, so touch is turned off. I can see it being useful on larger screens, especially dual screen with one over the otther.

lol thanks kamikaze. And thanks to zargg. but I'm using a 23" hanns.g monitor I bought and I have a 40" TV for second screen. I'm not trying to put sonar down I love it and paid for platinum and lifetime updates and have been using as my daw since x2. I just don't know why they have give pen support but not normal touch when they was the first daw to implement it?

I have tried touching two points on the timeline and that doesn't work either. Can someone please explain why they would change it to pen instead of normal touch unless its for fine detail curves for automation I don't know why? Selecting loop points or adding notes or moving clips should be so much easier than how it is now.
