Great question - it can be used in other DAWs as well.

"sigh", my iLok seems to have just died as I activated this Plugin. I see that a replacement is free but there is a fee to reactivate the programs (or some such thing). I've lost faith in this system. Just paid over a hundred dollars for VocAlign, now I'm to pay over a hundred dollars to have my plugs put onto a new iLok. Think I'll just cut my losses and not send for my "free" replacement iLok, I've saved myself money and don't have the hassle of wondering when my next iLok is going to fail. (Grrrr)

You can activate your computer.
SyncroArts supports that. You use the latest iLok manager software.
I have the demo of Vocalign running and my ilok is sitting on the desk.
 
I think you can deactivate the license on your ilok and move it to the pc but I'm an ilok rookie so proceed with an experts council on that.
 

Tried that. I can't do anything with my iLok. It refuses to be recognised by either my laptop or desktop. I've spent a lot of time trying to deactivate, synchronise and all that stuff. It has died, and with it all the options for using any of the plugins registered to it.

I have a question to those that might be more knowledgeable than I regarding VocAlign Project 3 and iLok.
 
I have never used iLok and prefer not to have any of its components on my system but am interested in this deal.  From indications on the web site, it seems like an iLok based (without a USB key) "computer-based" authorization is required.
 
Can anyone verify if that's a correct assumption?

It is, yes. Mine is Computer based. But you need an ilok account and the ilok licensing software installed.
