Hey guys.  Just got my new DAW - cooler - faster.   I am loading X3 on it right now.  I upgraded each time from X1 to the latest X3.  Can't remember it's been so long - Do I need to load previous versions of X1,2,3 software,
or can I install just the latest X3 by itself?  Thanks.

There is no requirement to install previous versions. There are a few plug-ins in older versions not included in X3 though. To install V-Vocal requires a minimal installation of an older version of SONAR.

Other plug-ins may be installed individually from a previous version. If the plug-ins are part of the version with V-Vocal, they may be added at the same time. To get everything will require running the advanced install option for both X1 and X2. While the install order does not matter, if I wanted V-Vocal, I would perform the minimal install of the older version first.

Terrific answer, scook.  Thanks.  I definitely want the V-Vocal.  It allows for surgical precision when required.
So i'll start by installing select X2 followed by full X3 install.

I have a ton of plug-ins and supporting hardware, and had thought I would mirror my old DAW to a new one, but decided a clean start would head off issues to come.  I guess I have many hours of work ahead.  Cheers,

Thanks.  I guess I can also install X1, X2, and X3 to be sure.  Latest patch version of each is X1/2/3 is all that's necessary, is that correct?
For example, if the latest X3 patch is X3e, then I just need to select the latest X1,X2, or X3e. Is that correct?
Cheers,

First, I am assuming this is regarding the X1 through 3 Producer series.

No. To get the full version of an X series start with the initial release, then apply the latest update. Unless you really want access to X1, do not bother installing the full version. Just run the advanced install and grab the plug-ins unique to X1. If you want the Beatscape synth, it has its own installer, otherwise, the "Loops and One Shots" included with X3 is the Beatscape content reorganized. Run the minimal install of X2 including the rest of the missing plug-ins. Last run the full X3 install and apply the X3e update.

Great, thanks.  So how about the 'Command Center' - should download and I use that for this job?  Cheers,

No. The CC only exposes Sonar 2015 and higher for installation
