Seeking an easy way to "measure" the average tempo for a project or selection, then set the metronome.

For example. I have a pre-precorded drum track. I want to set up the metronome or project snap to match that tempo. Assuming the drum track was recorded with a live drummer (but not always), is there a way I can make a selection and instantly see what the measured tempo is? Sort of like Transient detection, but with the added benefit of measuring tempo.

Realize, there's the time rulers in each project. Is there a better way?

Audiosnap will extract the average tempo of a clip. If you want the project to be in sync you need to create a tempo map. Fast Biker Boy (Karl Rose) made a great video explaining how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VR7WkHywTo

Check out Melodyne 4. New feature to discover a tempo map. Studio 4 will also allow you to adjust the tempo (or even it out if that's what you want).

Well, more of what I'm looking for is merely a "select clip, or section of clip, right-click and select, find tempo", for example. Feature request, probably.
Once the tempo is found, you can apply it to the project's BPM. No guessing.

But these are helpful suggestions, thanks!
