Since I'm compiling these, I though I post it too. Current list only include Z170 / Z97 and did not include boards with over 200 micro seconds of DPC latency.

FWIW, Without the exact testing configuration (and keeping it 100% consistent between all tested boards), those DPC Latency figures are nearly meaningless.
 
ie:  There are certain parameters in the BIOS that can help minimize DPC Latency.  
These parameters aren't exposed/available on all motherboards.  
Were these tweaked on each motherboard tested?
If they were enabled on some... and not others... the test results are completely skewed. 
 
It's the whole combination (motherboard and it's settings and component drivers, video card and it's drivers, etc).
The OS can affect DPC Latency
CPU throttling can affect DPC Latency

Z87 chipset motherboards did not blanketly have an issue with high DPC Latency.
 
Z97 motherboards boot plenty fast.
Boot speed is affected by the number of motherboard component/drivers (especially HD controllers - which scan their ports) that have to be loaded.
This in and of itself has nothing to do with DPC Latency.
Now, if any of those drivers aren't well-written (monopolizing CPU time), then that would negatively affect (increase) DPC Latency.

Thanks for the insights. I'm sure the tests configuration was not 100% consistent. I read at least in one review, where the reviewer would prefer one particular setting but the bios setup is not defaulted as such and he simply leave it as it is. But that's how I narrowed down my selection, hopefully close enough :)

Ya configuration can make a REAL big difference. I can drop my DPC and ISR latency a lot if I want to, by disabling all the power management on my CPU and GPU. I tell those things to stay all the way up all the time and it drops it a bunch. Of course it also makes my system use way more power, so I don't bother as I'd rather have a more efficient system and just turn on the buffer a bit.

my newest build is a z97. I like it. I paired it with an Intel I7 4790k.
my biggest issue was I cheaped out on ram and bought the on sale crucial ballistix 16GB DDR3.
it was either junk, or bad ram. upgraded to the corsair same specs and she fly's.
 
I remember having debates with jim R about how I thought AMD was almost as good as Intel.
I kind of feel like a schmuck now.
 
though I will stand by some of what I said, AMD has come a long way and the price is great, load times however, system stability, boot times...its a whole other world.
still love my AMD bulldozer, just not like this Intel though. its another animal.

I'm not sweating a thing. I'm running Win 10, completely un-tweaked, on an i7-6700 and it runs smoothly. CPU hogs like Ozone don't even register a discernable difference on Sonar's performance meter.
