I have an audio track with, who's output = master bus. On the same audio track, I added a "send" to a Sonitus Compressor on one of my other busses. However, the sidechain compression is not working. The Sonitus Compressor is not recognizing the send from the audio track. Anyone know how to get it to work?

The compressor doesn't see the send, the buss sees the send. Make sure the send is on and the buss is routed right.

So you're saying the send from the audio track needs to be to the bus containing Sonitus Compressor? Even though theres an option to send it to the compressor itself?

This article has examples that should work http://www.soundonsound.c...rticles/sonar_0208.htm

I have mine set up the same way. It still is not working.

Maybe I should clarify: What I described in my op WAS working earlier today. But checking now, after noticing something sounded a little funny, the sidechain stopped working.

did you happen toraise the threshold on the compressor?? another weird thing when you have the compression on a bus send is if you solo the bus it removes the ducking. only solo the track to be ducked and the key track.

I guess you've checked the obvious that the Compressor hasn't accidentally been turned off and send level on the send is still up?

Guys, it turned out it was a bug. I knew there was nothing wrong in the way I set up my sidechaining, because I do it all the time. Opened Sonar while holding Ctrl+shift and reset my audio settings or whatever and it started working again...

So this is happening to me now - I tried re-opening Sonar while holding Ctrl+Shift and that didn't seem to help.

I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my chain because I open a NEW project fresh, set up a side chain exactly how I have it in the project I'm working on and it works just fine.

Does anyone have any gd clue what the hell is going on here?  This has happened to me in the past I literally had to start a new project form scratch and import everything into it.  This project is too far along to do that.

Honestly stuff like this has me thinking of going to another DAW.  I feel like Sonar has become more and more difficult since Win 10 and such.

I mean in 2017 this shouldn't be an issue.

Oh and this is happening with MULTIPLE plug-ins, I've tried sidechaining with NI Solid Compressor, Sonitus Gate and Sonitus Compressor and side chaining has randomly stopped working on all of them.
