Hi all
I tried the motu 624 on 3 different win 10 pc and Sonar for live performance.
On the 1st one (Acer aspire V5-591G) the most powerfull it`s unusable.
On the 2nd an 8 year old pc it works fine exept that every while it losses connection with usb but if you close Sonar and open it it will regain connection no reboot reqiured.
On the 3rd an i3 Toshiba sattelite laptop it acts exactly as the 2nd pc.
So for live performane its a risk cause in the studio I could afford to have the driver crash close and open and keep on working but when playing live and the backing track coming through USB just stops from the laptop and mic still on thats bad.
well to be honest the good side is that the mic will still be on so you can say a joke at least when that happens.
For me the Motu Audio driver for win 10 is still a bit unstable to use it for a live performance.
Peace

At this point I would suggest trying one of the RME interfaces.

I had a new MOTU 828x that was giving me non-stop problems for 1/2 year with Sonar... I replaced the MOTU with a RME Babyface Pro and all of those problems went away. Only after I sold the 828x, did MOTU tech support admit to me that they really don't put that much time into their Windows support... the 828x did work just fine on an iMac.

I still have a MOTU audio express I used with Windows 7 where the drivers always worked without a hitch. I've never used it with Windows 10 and since it's for sale I'll never know if it works or not.

In Windows 10 I use Behringer's UFX1204 and have to uninstall-reinstall the drivers constantly, usually due to a "false" Error 38.

I also have consistent issues connecting other devices to Win10 USB, so I believe there are some fundamental issues with Windows 10 and USB that weren't there in Windows 7 and earlier. IOW, they broke something and live in denial of it.

I was hoping to purchase the new Motu Ultra Lite Mk4 to use with Sonar for live performance. But this is yet another thread I'm reading negative feedback on. I would be using W7 64 bit so I might be fine.

My MOTU 828x didn't work well with Sonar Platinum on Windows 7 either... but it did work well with Harrison MixBus on Windows 7 and Windows 10. RME seems to work well on everything I've tried.

In the past I had a motu 24i/o connected with pci 424,I remember first giving me some hussle but then since i set everything properly it worked for years without problems.I am hoping that this will be fixed cause i like the sound of all motu soundcards compered with prices.
I like the routing capabilities that come with these avb devices. It`s nice to be able to work with this small sized card for solo live performance and then I can go to a concert that my friend is mixing connected via cat 5 with his mixer and record the whole concert multitracked.
When it starts working properly.
Peace

I tried the motu 624 on 3 different win 10 pc and Sonar for live performance.
On the 1st one (Acer aspire V5-519G) the most powerfull it`s unusable.
On the 2nd an 8 year old pc it works fine exept that every while it losses connection with usb but if you close Sonar and open it it will regain connection no reboot reqiured.
On the 3rd an i3 Toshiba sattelite laptop it acts exactly as the 2nd pc.

I own 3 AVB interfaces (2x 1248, 1x UltraLite) and have meanwhile used it on 3 different PCs (2x beefy desktops, 1x Acer tablet PC) and have none of the described problems.

Those following the forum may remember me have issues with (a) the device not connecting after reboot back in Sep 2016 and (b) occasionally corrupted recordings in Nov 2016. BOTH problems (a) and (b) have been solved and I've been running these interfaces at excellent stability with no issues in the past 5 months.

BTW, all win10, fully patched, all plugs up to date, Sonar 2017.04.

I'm sure you have tried a lot already so I might be repeating stuff you tried but ...
... try physically different USB ports (USB2!)
... check USB power plan settings
... make sure you have the latest driver (v4.0+72216 | March 23, 2017)
... try disabling MMCSS in Sonar (not sure it makes a difference these days, but worth a try)
... alternatively you could try to use the previous driver (v4.0+72091 (Release Date 2017-03-01)) but not any earlier
... also - although not recommended - try to plug a USB2 hub in between. I know everyone tells you not to do so but this has cured a few problems with other hardware here (and due to cable length connections and DAW in a different room I run all my interfaces on USB2 extenders and they work fine) ... so it's worth a try ...

will stop by later to see if I can think of anything else ...
