Hi

Can anyone shed light on why the Prochannel Quad eq would make random, global changes to the eq settings? The bug seems to set a proportional amount of gain, freq shift and q to the HF band but not others.  For example, all HF gains get up to 14db of gain,

I think it's related to automation being switched on - but I'm not automating eq, no groups are used, only channel volume is changed during playthrough.

It's happened to me before and now again http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3082175 -

The only solution that works is to recreate the project file a. edit the eq (Sonar crashes every few edits), create a new project and drag the waves and plugins over recreate but I lose all automation. I just lost a really good mix and have to start again...

Anyone?

Thanks

Gary

I have a bug with the Matrix when dragging out and triggering some audio. However it happens under high resolution settings and depending on what is on the screen at the same time. Maybe something I need to look at.

If you happen to accidentally lean on the CTRL key while adjusting one of the knobs on the QuadCurve -- or any control on any ProChannel plugin or track for that matter -- and you don't have a subset of the tracks selected to create a specific group, it treats it as a global group across all tracks.  It can be handy when you do want to do something across all tracks, but occasionally I find my palm was slightly leaning on the CTRL key, and wind up doing it by accident.

Hi Bill,

I think you've got it! I just couldn't understand it. I had a notion the ctrl key was involved but .... 'couldn't quite put my finger on it...' (awful pun...) ... I'm going to try and recreate it.

Many thanks

Gary

Yeah, I think the first time I did it by mistake I didn't know what had happened either.  But, once you know about the CTRL shortcut you can take advantage of it to do a number of different things across a bunch of tracks.  For instance, you can insert an FX bin plugin across a group of tracks, or for ProChannel plugins you can either add or remove a plugin from multiple tracks.  For some operations, it seems like you need to select a specific group of tracks first, but for others it automatically does all tracks if none are selected, like with the ProChannel adjustments, and track volume or pan adjustments, etc.

Of course, that won't stop you from doing it by accident once in a while, but at least you'll know why it happened!
