I am using a Zoom H4n hand-held recorder to capture some sounds.  The H4n records wav files at 44.1/16, and then I download them into my computer.  I have a Platinum project set up at 44.1/16.  The files do not import sucessfully.  I have tried File > Import> Audio.  I have tried to click and drag the file from my computer folder into SONAR.  No matter what method I try, SONAR creates an audio track with nothing but dotted lines in the track pane.  The track name even displays the correct .wav file name.  There is just no audio waveform in the track.  This is probably a simple fix but I cannot find it.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Are you sure the wav isn't just going somewhere way out on the timeline?  Sonar has a function to import broadcast files at the time in their timestamps (Preferences | File | Audio Data).  if you don't turn that off, you may think you are not importing, but actually the file is just way out beyond where you think the project ends.

I hope this is the problem because it is easy to fix (though not always easy to spot).

Go into your preferences/File?audio data and deselect "Always import broadcast waves at their timestamp"  i suspect that will clear your issue up

YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS.  I owe you guys 10,000 trips to Hawaii and one dollar in cash.  This is going to save me a ton of work trying to deal with the wave files in Sound Forge.  Sonar's editing will make this task a breeze!  Awesome, thanks again.
