Charlie H
I liked it quite well. The only thing I think could be improved is that sound of the drums. They sound awfully skinny.

Hi Charlie H ,
Thank you for taking the time to listen , I'm glad you enjoyed my tune
Sure you may be right , the drums in this song do sound a little scooped even to me now after you mention it . When I was starting out with the tune I was thinking along the lines of a snappy type of fusion drum sound .
It seemed to work out OK when it was just my 8 String guitar and drums .
Anyway it's no big thing . I built up all the other parts as a separate project and it would be very easy for me to change the overall sounds of my drums now that the song is more set than when I started it ...
thanks .

Wayfarer
I used to be a real fusion head, so needless to say, I like this! And I'm pretty sure the guys in Cell Block #9 can even dance to it.

Hi Wayfarer ,

I also dug my share of Fusion when I was younger . I'm happy you liked my tune
I would hope the guys in Cell Block #9 would dance to it if I ever wound up in there with them ..
I would sure hate to have to suffer through an a$$ kicking if they didn't feel like dancing to it

all the best,

Kenny

I'm with others on the Corea/fusion angle - loved it.   Sure, the drum sound could use a little TLC but in the end I didn't care 'cause the tune itself is so freakin' cool.    It kinda makes me want to do something fusion-y, something that's never really crossed my mind before.   So.... kudos!

Ah so kenifucious, I have been around for a year or so, maybe more, I have heard kenifucious play slow, fast, soft and mellow, dirty, hot, clean, robust, precise, sloppy (like Jimmy Page sloppy,) without histrionics, always in his lane.

Dude just plays, from the heart, with heart,

This sounds kind of jazzy to me, and I like jazz, I would say that this coulds easily played on my local jazz station, and most listeners would like it.

Nice work geetar black belt kenifucious.

Hi Steve ,

I certainly respect your opinion Plus I happen to Love the Progressive Rock songs you create  .
Say, it may be time for us both to switch it up a little ...
One day real soon I may set out to write and perform a progressive Rock tune along the lines of what you do  ...
I would Love to hear how you would sound writing a tune along the lines of the Corea/fusion angle..
I'm sure you would do very good because not only do you have the chops on the guitar I know you have a tremendous amount of production and arranging chops ....
Thank you for you comments I appreciate hearing them .

nice funk, Kennnnnaaay!  man, love that guitar that came in at 0:53 - really nice!

I could stand to hear a little more tinkling on the ivories instead of the block chords, but that's just dressing for your meat and potatoes guitars which are awesome!  nice work!

Pretty interesting to hear 8 string guitar outside of the metal context.  Wish I was at home and could play drums to this.  Nice work, man.

Hi Reece,

Oh Yeah , at 0:53 I'm playing out of one of my amps ...Hey, I'm real glad you dug the tune .
There is a fair amount of keyboard work that I played VIA my midi guitar using non keyboard types of sounds  .
The regular keyboard sound aka the block chords you mentioned were my way of keeping it simple to outline the tunes changes ...
thank you for the listen and constructive comments.

Hi Voda La Void ,

I have both a 7 and an 8 string .Yes it is true that most players will use those guitars for Metal . My primary reason for getting them was to be able to have access to the full range of the usable octaves a keyboardist would play in .
( minus the super high end and lows )
Since I don't play Keys (all that well ) I wanted to have a much fuller range to choose from on the guitar ...
Yeah I love playing all kinds of music on my extended range guitars . I'm long over due for creating some Metal tunes.
If you ever wind up playing drums to this let me know how it works out ...

Thank you for giving this song a listen

Hey Kenny, what I really like about this aside from the groovy bassline, funky as all get-out drums, beautiful guitar tones and great arrangement is:  those catchy unusual chord changes.  And, to top it all off -- a great mix and recording.  Bravo !!  ~~ Allan
