  • How to deal with plugins that have changed name ?

I have a bunch of Waves plugins, including the gold bundle.
The Wave plugins show as their name, without Waves.
For example 'C1 comp mono' and not 'Waves C1 Comp mono'.

Now I have found an old project full of waves plugins, but none are recognized as the plugins, because, I guess, all are named with prefix Waves, such as Waves C1 Comp mono.
It could be something else, such a change of ID, on the part of Waves or some other change from Sonar. Whatever it is, plugins are not recognized whereas they are installed and activated.

What I can do is Alt-move the plugin from the Sonar browser to the FX on the track.
But it seems to erase the configuration of the plugin, and it is tedious, as I would have to repeat for all plugins and all tracks.

Is there a better way ?

Normally old Waves VST2 plugins automatically migrate to their new VST3 versions. For waves this will work as long as BOTH the VST2 and VST3 plugins are installed and the VST scanner can find them. Also check if you have the VST setting "Replace if possible on project load" checked.
Of course if these were projects with really old plugins that Waves doesn't support then they won't get automatically remapped.

I had the option "Replace if possible on project load"

O well no worry, I guess the project files were made with a very old version of Sonar.
