+1 for not all interfaces behave nicely. I too have to turn it on 1st. If I don't, like the OP, I have to shut Sonar down and reload.
 
Sonar is EXCELLENT about telling you a device was turned OFF but not so much about knowing when one is turned ON. It will flat ignore some interfaces and never respond.
 
Of course, the interface DRIVER has to be working 1st or neither method will work.

I'd prefer the option to abort there too. So glad that automatic device detection was added. Often more for added midi devices than Audio, but occasionally my Roland Quad. When things are behaving re-openng gives me more peace of mind.

bitflipperAnd never apologize for being 65. The larger the database, the slower the access time. It's still better to have the data.

 
Oh, I wasn't apologizing. I worked hard to get to 65. Trouble is, all that acid I dropped in 60's perhaps re-routed some circuits.
