I opened a project in Plat from 2011, deleted about 50 plugins that were in any audio tracks. Upon re-opening I received the 'plugins not found, missing...' message box.

I also deleted the actual audio tracks right out of the project, re-saved as a new project.
Still I get that 'missing plugins' message.

Anyone have this happen, know the cause or a fix for it?

thanks

here's a pic, no audio or midi tracks in the project.

What are you trying to accomplish?

If you just wanted to start over with the audio tracks, there are easier ways.

Easier ways for what?

I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting missing plugins message in an empty project.
There has to be be something causing it but I've never had it happen before. I still have the original project & will try various workarounds.
Still I'd like to know what's up, don't want a corrupted project down the line.

An effect on a bus that is not deleted when you deleted the tracks or is loaded from a template?

It's a reasonable question that nace asks. And it may well be a bug. I have seen this myself, where a phantom "missing" plugin raised the unnecessary warning.  IIRC I had to delete the track in order to permanently wipe out all trace of the removed plugin.

I wouldn't worry about it, though. At worst it's a minor nuisance.

I'd check Pro Channel entries - they are treated as plug-ins.

Thanks for the replies.

No Pro Channel fx, busses & all vi's removed from the project.
I was able to get the missing message stop however it was the order in which I deleted tracks, files & buses that made the difference.
Previously I always deleted the tracks-vi's first then the buses.
Then I tried deleting the buses first, then the vi's & tracks. The project then opened normally.

I also noticed that several missing plugins were reported to be on re-named tracks or buses. Example I renamed Snare RV to Room RV. The message reported was a missing plugin on the Snare RV bus (either way I deleted that bus anyway & would still get the message)

I don't remember if I used a user template but it's possible (I renamed the buses sometime back in 2011) I do recall template issues in the past so maybe that is related somehow.

I've opened older projects like this many times in newer versions of Sonar but never had this problem.
I have a feeling that Kontakt  (several instances were used) might have done something 'weird' to the project
I wouldn't call this a bug but an isolated abnormality. Just wish I knew what caused it.

Thanks again.
