After months of zero problems Cake has now crashed on startup several times since installing the latest update yesterday.
VCRUNTIME140.dll seems to be the culprit.

Yes, me too. I haven't checked the logs yet. Multiple startups seem to get me past this.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Its a startup bug that seems to affect only some PC's. We're testing a hotfix for this as we speak and should release it soon, hopefully early tomorrow once it passes testing.

It's also causing problems with Melodyne. If I create a region FX since yesterday's update all I get in the Melodyne editor is a flat line ... this worked fine until the update, and it works fine in Splat... I've had issues with this product now since August. is there an easy way to go back to the July release?

Not if you didn't save it. You need to copy the cakewalk.exe that is downloaded to somewheres else for safe keeping. You copy it when the cakewalk installer starts asking I think, for the language. That's when it's all in.

Been doing it since June but I'll bet were not allowed to share archives of the updates we might have saved.

I tested it with both Melodyne 4.1.1.011 and the latest 4.2.0.020 and no problems making melodyne clips in the latest version of CBB. Nothing has changed in that area of code in months so you are most likely seeing a different issue. Did you recently update your version of Melodyne?
If you can send us a project that reproduces the issue we can look into it. We also have several testers using melodyne and nobody has reported this issue to us.

I deleted and reinstalled Cakewalk and it seems to work now.
