usb 3.0 that`s what giving me the problem, the chipset of intel i`ve been told in another forum.
By the way on windows you cannot connect it with cat 5 only on mac you can.
Peace

Yep, that's the problem 90% of the time with newer systems.  Especially if you notice that the interface works just fine on your older system.

That is the current Win 10 Creator's Upgrade.  There is no MOTU problem with the Creator's Upgrade.

10-4 on USB 3.0 and most MOTU USB interface units.  I had problems with USB 3.0 and no problems with USB 2.0.  There is a long thread on the gearslutz forum about the USB 3.0 "problems".

My new DAW PC build (back in late November) only has 3.0 and 3.1 ports on the rear I/O panel.  My MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid is also Firewire interface so I bought a PCIe Firewire interface card (with T.I.) chipset and using that.  However on a laptop usually there is no other option and you are "SOL".

However, this does not address the core problem, the PC will not play 44.1Khz with Windows Media Player (Have you tried a "standard" 16 bit/44.1Khz?)

i'm thinking, tyring to help ... but the obvious was suggested already ...

following this thread as a MOTU user

BTW, the 624 was one of the first interfaces to come out with a USB3 (not USB2) port in the back ... and here's what they claim in their marketing material
With 32 and 34 channels of audio I/O, respectively, the 624 and 8A connect to any computer with Thunderbolt™ or super-speed USB3, which is, of course, backward compatible with USB2.
New optimized MOTU drivers deliver industry-leading, ultra-low round-trip latency (RTL) performance as low as 1.6 ms at 96kHz over Thunderbolt with high-performance DAW hosts (with a 32-sample host buffer). Over USB3 (or USB2), RTL performance is an astonishing 1.9 ms. Generally speaking, the main advantage of USB3 is the increased bus bandwidth, with latency performance for both USB2 and USB3 within a few hundredths of a millisecond of Thunderbolt. Both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt support up to 128 channels of input and output to and from the computer (at 44.1 or 48 kHz). That's 256 simultaneous audio channels!

The funniest thing is that when the Audio driver crashes  I  open a 48khz project and it restars the driver again and I could work on it as much as i like without a crash.
Peace

I'm still stuck on the report that Windows Media Player doesn't play 44.1khz audio files, which suggests a basic PC/Windows problem.  That needs to be fixed before even considering the MOTU.

I Gave up on this laptop one day Intel and Microsoft maybe will fix this.
I`m using my son`s laptop for now a much slower i3 Toshiba but the Motu 624 works like a charm on it.
Thanks everyone for the info

Too bad.  I would suspect a corrupted Win 10 install.  I would download and install the latest version of Win 10, direct from Microsoft and start with that.  Only install any needed drivers from Acer (Win will install many drivers if you are on line (or able to go on line) when you do the install.

See this thread from the www.tenforums.com  about how to download and install the creators upgrade version of Win 10 direct from Microsoft.

I'll agree on the USB 3.0.  However, you reported Windows Media Player would not play 44.1Khz files, and that has nothing to do with Sonar or your MOTU unit.  That is a Windows problem or some other application you have running.
