Well Guys, with all of the updates to Sonar I simply haven't taken the time to do the necessary research to keep up with the changes.  So, could someone tell me how to cancel / delete an instrument after I instantiate it?

Thank you.

Use the browser.  Select the synth in question by clicking on it.  Hit the "X" above the list.

I'm probably not understanding because the instrument is not being deleted.  I instantiated True Piano, opened the actual instrument GUI, then clicked on the X above the browser and nothing happened,  nothing changed.  I also highlighted the instrument track and the X,  nothing.  I clicked on the GUI and the X, nothing.

Is there something I'm missing?  Thanks!

  • If it's a Simple Instrument track, you delete it like any other track (right-click on header > delete track).
  • If it's a MIDI and audio track in a folder, you delete it like any other folder (right-click on header > delete track folder).
  • If you have the Synth Rack open in the Browser, click on the instrument, then click on the big red X in the Synth Rack header.

Thank you for your help.   Keeping up with Sonar updates is sometimes difficult to schedule.  Still, I appreciate the great improvements, the vastly-better reliability and increased creative power the Cakewalk geniuses have given me.

Thanks again!
