If I select note events in the PRV, then Copy, then want to Paste Special to another Track, AFAICS if I do not actually select that track before pasting, even though I actually ask for the new track number in the PS DBox, then PS will paste to the original track.
ie, I copy events in Track 2, then ask to Paste Special, then in the PS DBox I ask to paste to Track 3 as a Destination without actually moving to Track 3 first, the events will simply be pasted over themselves in Track 2
