Once I bought a Sonic Research Turbo Tuner I've found I can't stand using other tuners.

I always made use of the tuner in the audio interface software that accompanied my previous interface (Line6 UX2). I found this very convenient and I miss it now that I am using a different interface.

Tuning while using SONAR has been something that would slow me down all the time.  So, over the years, I added a strobe tuner to my rack and run the guitar signal chain (Hardware) to it so I have instant visuals for tuning.

If you have UAD, UAD has a tuner as well (a plugin), which I keep as the first plugin in all my UAD Console tracks.  Redundant I know, but I probably use the turner in the UAD console more ofter than the strobe tuner (Don't know why).

Prior to all of this, I use to use the tuners that were in the AMP SIMs I use.  It would be cool if SONAR could come up with something even more convenient to my solution(s).

Folks , I'm not giving up on this topic .

I would like SONAR to have a built in tuner available and integrated on an Audio track with out me having to dial up a 3rd party amp sim just to use the tuner ....or something like G B which has a global tuner .

This request is not at all about me not having a guitar tuner ...please don't make me list them all ...

I have guitar tuners up the Kazoo ...

What I have are a bunch of juvenile delinquent guitars
Oh Yeah BTW, that Includes my Gibson Historic Les Paul R 8 VOS
What these juvenile delinquent guitars like to do is play real nice and be on their best behavior most of the time and when ever it doesn't count ....they are fine for practice , jamming to tunes , noodling , learning new things to play ..ect ..ect..

The second the Red Light goes on and it is now time to record all bets are off
All of a sudden every one of my Goody Two Shoe Guitars start acting up as a team trying to stick it too me ..
It becomes just like an episode of the Twilight Zone over here .
G strings start to go sharp , my low E string decides to go flat ..the C # on my 3rd string in my A chord on the 5 th fret decides to go Rambo on me and get micro tonal and evoke country's I've never been to ...
I kid you not ...I'm not making this $hit up ....
That's only the 6 string guitars ....the 7 and 8 string guitars ... whew, tuning those up are a whole other thang lol

Sure I could sit here and just use a tuner if I was only using one guitar...
Even using one guitar it's a pain in the a$$ to have to constantly go back and forth between the guitar , a hardware tuner and my tracking session in SONAR ...
It is very rare that I use only one guitar during a tracking session ..my usual is 3 to 5 guitars ....
It would sure save a lot of time for me if SONAR had an integrated global tuner or a tuner for each audio track ...
I wouldn't have to leave the SPlat GUI ...
It's either that or I could get a price quote on how much 29 G Forces would run me ....

all the best,

Kenny

I used to just use the tuner built into guitar rig. It worked ok but required that I keep the guitar rig window open while recording to keep and eye on tune.

Then I picked up one of those $12 clip to the headstock gizmos to use when I was away from the computer. Don't know why, but I found that tuning was always quicker and more accurate with the clip-on than it was with guitar rig. Now I don't think I'd tune guitars any other way.

That being said, if there were a tuner in pro channel, I would probably use it for things like tuning samples.

A tuner would be good. I'm not a guitar player but whenever I work with one they're always baffled that I have to open an amp sim just to tune up.

By the way what the hell is a "snark" tuner?? From the context it sounds like a stompbox?
