TB Strobe Tuner is awesome and free! You can even create custom sweetened tunings if you'd like. Check it out!

By the way what the hell is a "snark" tuner?? From the context it sounds like a stompbox?

Headstock tuner. Cheap. Works great.

I just downloaded the TB StrobeTuner v2.21 through the link presented above.  Norton Antivirus declared it a network security risk and deleted it from my computer, without any prompting from me.  Not quite sure what that was all about.

For now, I'll go back to the Snark Headstock tuner I have.  It does fairly well.  I did install the MTuner.  It seems to be about 3-4 cent difference from my PlanetWaves Headstock tuner.  Stayed tuned as I test out the others I have and see which is a bit more accurate.

I guess I'm going to be another one to pee in the Cheerios.

If they add a tuner I won't complain, but probably wouldn't ever use it. I guess I like things separated. I have excellent tuners, one on my bench, one on my board and a clip on tuner. 2 of my acoustics have built-in tuners. All of them are very accurate.

There are tuners in some my plugins like Amplitube and, as mentioned, TH3 and Guitar Rig. Those don't seem to be quite as accurate.

I would personally prefer a DAW to focus on recording and excel at it.

I have an app called Pitchlab on my phone and I use it for tuning guitars. It's no less accurate than any hardware tuners that I have seen.

But a tuner built into Sonar would be handy too. Sometimes I want to check the pitch of some audio after it's recorded. And sometimes samples sound a bit off too. It would be useful if there was a quick facility for checking exactly how sharp or flat a particular sampled note is.

There is a Metronome Bus.  There is a Preview Buss.  I made a Pitch Bus as well and route any track to it when I need to tune or measure a pitch...like in a vocal.  I put Guitar rig in it's FX bin, but any tuning vst will do.  When done with it I reroute the track back to where it is supposed to go.  I like this setup a lot.

I have about 10 of these. One on every guitar. I have tried a few different ones but I find Snark makes the best all round (economical, good quality) tuners. They also work on Basses as well. some of the others I have tried either don't pick up the low E on a Bass or it loses connectivity/vibrations on the low E.

Thanks for the clarification.

I use Gibson guitars with the G Force automatic tuning. I realize some people diss the concept, but not having to deal with tuning is really quite a luxury. I haven't had to re-cut a guitar track because it was out of tune for years. With instruments like ukulele and bass that don't have automatic tuning, I use a Planet Waves headstock tuner.

You could always try this or this, put it in an FX Chain, and have it always ready in the ProChannel. I haven't tried either one, so I can't vouch for them in terms of accuracy or usefulness.
