Once I bought a Sonic Research Turbo Tuner I've found I can't stand using other tuners.

I just bought the Mini version. I really like it, but I find the visuals a bit harder to read than a Peterson StroboStomp.

The only in the box plugin I liked was the Peterson VST.

You could always try this or this, put it in an FX Chain, and have it always ready in the ProChannel. I haven't tried either one, so I can't vouch for them in terms of accuracy or usefulness.

I use GVST Tuner almost exclusively, although I have other excellent tuners such as Waves' GTR tuner, and IK's AT4 tuner. GTune is very simple and precise.

Another vote for Gtune. Very easy and very light on CPU

I have about 10 of these. One on every guitar. I have tried a few different ones but I find Snark makes the best all round (economical, good quality) tuners. They also work on Basses as well. some of the others I have tried either don't pick up the low E on a Bass or it loses connectivity/vibrations on the low E.

You are right about many tuners struggling with basses, Chuck.

Just for information, I find you can get round tuners not picking up the Low E on a bass by tuning the 12th fret harmonic.  It produces the same pitch as the Low E on a guitar in standard tuning.

HTH someone..
