not only do i keep every revision of every song i make, but i really want to somehow save my posts from this forum in case they don't all transfer over when they shut the forum down and move it all over to bandlab...

Definitely not just you. I also do photography, and I still have every shot I've taken since 2002. Fortunately large hard drives aren't expensive.

oh man my girlfriend is a photographer too and back in november i think, crashplan (a cloud backup service) was switching everyone over from home to business accounts, which sounded like not a big deal... except something went wrong in the process and they lost her entire backup... 8tb of photos needs to be reuploaded haha. it's still chugging along, about 80% now i think just constantly uploading in the background... they're not charging her anything until it's 100% finished and verified. so... much... stuff...
