Is possible to 'delay' the video by a half second after the music begins?

It is but there is a catch - It all depends on what type of video you import.

If you use either WMV or AVI formats you can set an offset value for the start time in the video properties panel, but for all other types MP4, MOV etc this option in not available - I understand it has something to do with Quicktime and is outside Cakewalks control.

Hope this helps

the best way to do this is grab Windows Movie Maker or some other video app (I use Sony Movie Studio) and slide the video back to the time you want and render a video file for Sonar.  If you are going to work with picture it will serve you well to have a video app that you can do tasks like this.  I use the lite version of Vegas (Movie Studio) to do things like add Time Code, streamers and all sorts of things.  It is much better to render a wav from Sonar and marry the audio back to picture in the video app.  You will have greater control and things will be much quicker and easier.

While this gives the most overall control, I have had times where I need to hit the music on a certain frame at the start of the cue and being able to offset the video in Sonar to achieve this is very helpful - especially the times when the video edit is still not completely locked but you need to be starting the music. Otherwise its lots of time spent in and out of the video editor exporting clips with different start times to match the music start point.
