Good Day,

Not being midi expert, Im wondering if its possible to create an instrument definition file for virtual instruments, namely Addictive Drums 2. This would in my case be to have a way to simply apply kit piece names to PRV pane, (and avoid using Drum Grid Pane)
As per,
http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Instrument_Defs.01.html

Assuming this is possible for AD2, some of the info required is listed below, what Im most uncertain about would be items 3,4, and 5.
  1. What are the names of the patches in each bank?
  2. Which note names should be used for each patch?
  3. What are the names of the MIDI Controllers for this instrument?
  4. Which RPN and NRPNs are available on the instrument?
  5. Which Bank Select method does the instrument use?
If anyone could enlighten or confirm to me if possible it would be appreciated before I take the time to do it, I would gladly share the instrument file once created, if it is possible.

Cheers
John

3) is the mapping, you can select/redefine it in AD2 settings ("?" - "Map window"). That say which Note correspond to which kit peace. My file is for AD Standard mapping.
4-5) not for AD2

I tried the .ins file for AD2 and it worked great... I also use EZDrummer 2... is there an .ins file for that program too??

Thanks!

I do not have EZDrummer, so I can not help with it. Sorry.
There are other threads about EZDrummer instrument file, like http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3484001
I suggest you ask there.

It's just a text file. Any user can edit it to his/her liking.
