It was working fine just a few days ago and not sure if something happened with the recent update?  It is stuck on the Black boot up screen and just says Sonar Platinum.  It doesn't show anything else like it usually does when it is loading something.  I'm on vacation and just finished writing a new song and went to record and now this.  Talk about destructive forces screwing with creative juices.  IF anyone has a solution please help me.  Otherwise I may have to open Reaper which I would prefer not to do.

Thanks.

What happens if you open in safe mode?  (Hold shift while opening)

Zargg
Or hold Ctrl when opening, to let SONAR re personalize.
All the best.

I just tried Shift and also CTRL and all I get is the blue circle of death from windows.  After getting tired of waiting I'll click on the Black Sonar Square graphic and it will shade gray and then give me the prompt to Sonar is not responding and either close the program or wait for the program to respond.

Check if a background process is happening, like an authorization that needs to be clicked or something.

Then turn off the computer, wait 30 seconds, turn it on, and open only SONAR. Be patient in case updating from Windows or something else is happening in the background. Give it a good 15-20 minutes before deciding the program won't respond. I've had the occasional long boot and don't know why, but it's extremely rare.

Is there anything noteworthy (pun not intended) in the Windows event viewer.  Look for things like disk errors, etc.  You may have filter out all the normal event viewer chatter.

One other thing to try is rename the AUD.INI file located in the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum folder.  (Do not delete it, just rename it to AUD.OLD or something like that)

That way, Sonar will attempt to rebuild it

You have not stated what your Audio interface is.  Have you tried unplugging that and see if Sonar will start.

Maybe try reinstalling the drivers for your Audio interface

Also, maybe reinstall Sonar.  Maybe reinstall the Vdist 2015 runtimes

Ok I was able to fix it, I chose the repair option on the driver for M-Audio 2x2m interface and now it loads instantly.  Not sure what happened but it works now nonetheless.  Thank you!
