Okay, so I just can't figure this out. Not sure if My routing is incorrect or what, but this is what I'm wanting. I get My post fader levels coming from the board which is included in the mix I'm hearing in sonar, but when I export all I get are My busses. Is it not possible to get post board fader settings in The final exported mix? I know this is the problem because My mix sounds awesome coming through the program and then I'll solo my busses and they sound very quiet and compressed (exactly how my exported file sounds). I've got kick, snare, tom, OH, and mono OH busses all routed to a drums bus which is then routed to a drums master bus which is routed to the master. Sounds good with the board faders, but I cannot seem to get them exported with it. On one more note, I'm using a presonus studiolive 16.0.2. Thank you. This has been driving me insane.

How are you exporting ? Using the File> Audio>Export ?
Or bouncing the export ? Have you made sure you are checking off the boxes needed in the export options ?
Also make sure those tracks are selected upon export. You can always use the CNTL+A route to select all tracks to export.

Yes I'm selecting everything I'm pretty sure. I've tried exporting entire mix and many other options from the edit export audio option. I have not tried the bounce option, just the export. would the bouncing option be better for me and how would I go about that. Also what's the difference from that and just exporting?

Double check your routing.  And make sure the master is going to the correct L/R on the Presonus (Hardware Bus).

I'm pretty sure my routing must have to be messed up. I believe it says my master out is presonus channel 1 which is actually channels and faders 1 and 2 on the board which is extremely annoying, but no matter what, those 2 faders control my main volume and I can still pull up the other faders to bring the rest of the mix out. Its very strange. But like I said, then those volumes won't carry over to my exported material. What is normal for outs for the master?

I'm not familiar with using a controller/ interface but with every interface I have used the audio goes directly from the Master buss by default to the interfaces 1/2 output. You can change this in the MAster buss output options. In my case I can choose 1/2, 3/4 or SPDIF.

Exports have nothing to do with where your monitoring is going ( 1/2 out) and I thing what is happening to you is your listening to the mix via your interface which obviously ads stuff to the sound.
An export goes directly from the master buss to Tape so to speak. It should not be going through your interface. You could actually unplug an interface and still export a mix.

I believe that right there is what I needed to hear. I understand exactly now. So my fat channel and everything like that are really only used for live sound? I was kind of afraid of that but was still grasping for hope that I didn't have to totally recreate my sound again, haha. But at least I can start fresh and then stick with what sound I end up with. Does that mean I should maybe turn the gain up a little on each channel since I won't be using fader volume?
