I keep getting the silent busses error n can't hear anything.
I have tried following the steps to get to the wave profiler but it is not offered as an option.
I get as far as Edit, Preferences, Driver settings n there's no mention of a wave profiler in there?
Any help?

The Tascam us 1641 uses a good ASIO driver, ASIO does not require the wave profiler to run. If you swich to WDM mode you'll get it to run. But make sure you do use the ASIO driver. 
 
Sometimes you get that message when you open a project that used a different interface or driver mode. 
Just check your track and buss outputs and  re assign them and all will be good.

When you change to either MME or WDM driver type the Wave Profiler runs automatically. The Wave profiler has no bearing on available Asio drivers. It's purely for Windows type drivers.
