Hi,

I have a vocal that i recorded mono. It sounds centered, but when I run the PAZ analyzer by waves it shows it coming out of the left side only. There is no panning on the channel or on any plugins. When i put the analyzer on the master bus on mono, it shows left as well. Whats stranger is when i put the analyzer on the vocal bus, also on mono, it shows as centered on the graph. Is it because I recorded with the "left" mic in input?

Thank you

No, it's nothing you've done wrong. It's the analyzer. Plugins don't see "left" and "right", they see two inputs that may or may not be so designated. When you route a mono signal into a stereo effect, it just sees data on one channel, which this analyzer is displaying as "left". More sophisticated analyzers sense a mono input and alter their displays accordingly, but that doesn't mean this one's lying to you. Waves has traditionally offered mono and stereo versions of their plugins - maybe there's a mono version of this one too?

Gotcha. So its kind of like a default. There isnt a mono version of the position part of the plugin. And now it makes sense that i shouldnt pay attention to that if i have output as mono. Thanks
