Any recommnedations for vocal samples? I thought I ran across something in here the other day, but have totally lost the link. I am looking for some really good generic oohs, ahhs, amd that sort of thing.

Suggestions?

I grabbed Liquid Instruments The Voice Vol. 2 when it was on sale. It's actually pretty cool. There are a lot of sorta silly "scatting" samples too that I don't get much use from. But I use the "Oohs and ahhs" pretty frequently. They're certainly meant for 'pop' songs. Not really that soulful or funky. Check out the website and search the Liquid Instrument series.

Actually, I have DimPro, and it does not really have any significant vocal samples that I would use.

Hi,

you didn't mention your budget was an issue or not. The best one on the market right now is the Eats/West Symphonic Choir.

How does this work in Sonar? Is it a plug-in?

It works great in Sonar. It's a plug-in, yes. A sample library. You have to install the Liquid Instruments engine then assign the library within that. You choose the sample you want then assign it to a MIDI trigger (keyboard, pad, etc.) The best part, tho, is you can edit the samples using Melodyne-style technology. Changing the length, pitch, and formant of the notes. And all in the same key as your project. This must be done before the sample is assigned to you MIDI trigger. So this plug isn't really "playable", but when you get the samples the way you want, it's terrific. And it's completely unprocessed so you can apply your own reverb, EQ, etc as you see fit.

It's a slight pain to install and register. You have to go through that Challenge response via email jazz. But I'm very pleased with it. I just wish they'd make a funk/gospel/diva sorta library. Sometimes the voices sound too girl-next-door-y to me (I NEVER use the male samples . . . sounds too much like a jingle singer to me).
