This probably isn't the "useful" review you're looking for, but everyone I know who's ever heard of the Vocaloid series has screamed "STAY AWAY!" I was very much considering picking up LOLA. But the few people who I talked to that had used it told me I'd be better off spending my money on a really good electric shoe polisher.

So I passed. But that's just me. Perhaps someone out there has a different opinion about it.

I've just taken a trip around the Net looking for vocal oohs and aaahs. I even got some pornographic hits in the search ... Well, obviously when you search for female varieties of those sounds, that's where you will end up.

Still, there isn't much I can use out there. Most samples are classical, choral stuff. And I am looking for pop/rock oohs and aahs. Preferably in a format for Kontakt or one that can be converted to Kontakt.

I have the precisionsound female uuuhs and aahss, but they are more like pad. Though, shortening decay in Kontakt make them sound more like the usual pop backing, but not completely.

I also went to the suggeste vocaldownloads above here. But the uuuhs sound artificial, and they charge about $1 per single note in the scale, right? And furthermore you have to do all the work yourself, looping and such, because you only get wavs, not something in one of the sampler formats.

I do have several samples from Computer Music, but most of them are words and sentences. Not a series of uuhhhs and aahhh and mmmms covering the a couple of octaves.

So what is there actually out there. Have I missed something?

I am still looking too. The most promising seems to be Liquid Instruments The Voice Vol. 2 - but it's a bit more than I would want to spend for something like this.

On a related note - I would love to get the Roland scat voices samples - too cool!

Yeah the not-free solution is Dimension Pro.  I love vocaloids.
Good news is if you get the Platinum Bundle, it comes with D-Pro (AND Rapture Session!), but unfortunetly not all the expansions.  All you really need is the VST to make it work.

I'll be going with the z3ta+ 2 big pack here next month, because I love my chiptunes.

Off sale this is pricey, but is great for background vocals!  Unfortunately, it just recently went off sale for $99 at audioplugin.deals.  I highly recommend...very versatile.  Chk out the vids.

There are vocal riffs in Dimenion Pro (Lauren and Jaclyn, 3 sets each) that have quite a few "Oohs and Ahhs" in them. They are mapped to one riff per key per set. I believe that sample set is standard to DimPro/Rapture Session, but not entirely sure.

Slightly OT. I tried creating some vocal "ahhh" sounds using 3 different vocalists singing just over one octave each. Unfortunately none of them could manage to hold on a note for a long enough time, so I ended up using composites of overlapping clips and some of the results were a bit "phasey".

I was inspired to do this after watching the following video about 10CC and how they recorded the song "I'm Not In Love":
