I challenge you to find something by a major company with a similar feature set for less.

what's up with the smaller devs? (i.e., not a major company)

Feel free to name a smaller dev that you think

1)  Has comparable products - please name them
2)  Is priced less than Cake's offering

The smaller devs that came to my mind fit in two categories

1)  Cost more or
2)  Too small to be considered reliable/viable business long term.

Yeah, these seem very reasonably priced, imo.

The waves Linear Phase EQ is $149 as is their Multiband Compressor. That's $298 for both. They have very dated GUIs by comparison and a smaller feature set.

Why not also make it a Multiband expander? Or is it?

Fab-filter has a couple comparable products too, with more updated GUIs than WAVES...but they are also $370 for the pair of EQ and Compressor.

It is going to be interesting to see what the Sonar post introductory pricing is.  Either way, it is great to be a lifetime member getting these value add tools.

I think the introductory price is exceptionally low relative to what else is out there. What I like most about them:

  • The mid/side functionality is wonderful
  • In linear-phase mode, the LP MB makes a great crossover for multiband processing
  • Parallel processing capabilities in both plug-ins
  • Linear and non-linear phase processing
  • LP MB sidechaining can be enabled selectively for bands
  • Spectrum analyzer

...and they look cool, too.

A couple of questions...
  1. Is there a manual for the L-Phase series?
  2. Has the online Help been published for the L-Phase series?
If so, please point me in the right direction because I'm not finding either.

There is more useful information (for me at least) in the Sonar docs than on the L-Phase series product page. The Sonar docs say "For more information, see the LP EQ/MB online Help," but I'm not finding it.

Also, L-Phase is not found when searching the knowledge base.
