  • Using Computer Keyboard and/or Rock Band Game Instruments for Input (Solved)

Hi all, picked MC6t up during the Steam sale and, just wow, this is powerful and awesome.

So, I've gone through the video tutorials, made a few versions of piano clips I normally use in videos and such, but I would really like to manually record some beats.

At the most basic input, I would love to be able to hit that record button while using the soundcenter instruments (drums or even emulating a real musical keyboard would be great), play out a beat on my computer QWERTY keyboard, and use that instead of the piano roll or step sequencer.

If I can do this, theoretically I could then use xpadder or another keybinding program for my xbox 360 rock band plastic instruments, and use those for input.  If anyone has dealt with using the Rock Band game instruments with this program, without using the MIDI out capabilities (I dont have a MIDI to USB cord), any information would be great!

Thanks for any information!

You are going to be battling this problem until you break down and buy, no matter how inexpensive, a MIDI controller for your PC. That is just how MIDI data gets recorded into a MC6 Touch.

I actually found this through the Steam forums.
(can't post links, search Steam forums for this program for this "How do I use my 'keyboard' as a MIDI keyboard?")
A bit of a workaround, but it works, and if I use that game controller to keystroke program I should be able to get the drums and such working.

Thanks for the reply though!
