I have a standard non-usb microphone which is detected by Music Creator 6 as a device.
However it does not show up on the input on the transporter?
Any ideas please?

I'm a little confused. MC can not recognise the microphone, it can only recognise the inputs available. Non-USB microphones do not send any "identification data" (USB-mics are also soundcards). So what do you mean "MC recognizes" the mic?

I wonder what you mean by "transporter"? I don't have MC, but I assume in MC the track inputs/outputs are listed in the track header, like in SONAR, not in the transporter,  which only includes REC, start, stop, etc. I've never seen inputs shown in transporter (or maybe I've just missed it?). Maybe this is different in MC.

Or do you mean it doesn't show in the level meters? Are you using an interface or the integrated sound card?
Can you record with other methods (using soft synths, guitar etc.)?

Apologies, I meant the inspector. I'm new to this whole thing.
When I go to Preferences/Devices it shows mic in at rear panel as the recording device
Windows sound recorder also works with the mic

Have got it to work when in WDM/KS mode. Was in MME 32 bit on 64 bit system & was not working.
There is a comment to using ASIO somewhere but I cannot get any record or playback to register with this mode.

Nice that you got it working!
It would be usefull to always attach your gear and OS specs to a question like this. One of the key things in this case is that the integrated chips don't support ASIO. ASIO4ALL (which is not ASIO) often works well.

A non USB mic will not show up as a device ...... if a mic is showing up, it is in all likelihood an internal mic to the computer (laptop) that you see.

You have to seek the correct driver that works best for you. ASIO would be the preferred driver if you have a dedicated USB interface for recording. Most factory cards will not work on ASIO. So until you do purchase a dedicated interface, the other driver modes will have to suffice.

Glad you got it working.
