Can someone who has Rapture Pro 2.01 please test the following patches.  They are under the "Rapture Pro Factory Library"

Lucid Dreams 1
Lucid Dreams 2

On my system inside Cakewalk Sonar Platinum Everett and Rapture Pro 2.01 Stand alone, both of these patches will not load.  I am running Windows 32bit fully patched with ASIO drivers.

They are very large programs
Lucid Dreams 1 reports using 2516.7 MB
Lucid Dreams 2 reports using 2589.9 MB

They will not play in the 32bit version of RPro. This issue has been reported and send to development see http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3216884

Working fine here, both standalone and as plugin in Splat. I am running 64 bit.

Ah that explains it.  I imagine there would be a 2 Gig sample limit for 32bit systems.

Works for me in 64 bit standalone.
They take forever to load!

You would think there would be a warning message for this at least.

You would also think that this would be caught by beta testers, if not during a smoke test. (Actually I've seen less obvious bugs caught during design sessions).  If you start with the patches in the Atmosphere folder, you only need to try 5 patches before hitting the Atmospheric Harp patch, which will also hit that limit.

I think I have found a way to allow these 2 (and other very large) patches to load on a 32 bit Windows machine with 4 gig ram.

By default, with a 32 bit machine with 4 gig ram, Windows partitions the ram so that 2 gigs is allocated for the OS kernal and 2 gigs for programs.  Of course, this prevents any patches with samples larger than 2048 megs from loading.  You can change the mix so that so that there is 1 gig is allocated for the OS kernel and 3 gigs for programs.

To do this, go to the Windows command prompt (winkey + r and CMD then enter) and then issue the command:

bcdedit.exe /set IncreaseUserVa 3072

After doing this, perform a full machine power cycle

Note: Only do this if you are running a 32bit version of Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 with 4 gigs or ram installed.  If you are running any other configuration, stop here.

I have tried this on my 32bit Windows 7 machine and I can now load the rapture pro patches" Lucid Dreams 1" and "Lucid Dreams 2" .

Other memory intensive software also benefits from this modification as well.

If you do this and it causes issues and you wish to reverse the change then issue the following command and then reboot:

bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa

You can also install jBridge which allows you to bridge 32 bit plugins to use more ram on 32 bit systems
