Here is a little Bluesabilly type of number inspired by but not sounding like Heartbreak Hotel.  Yes, even though I went and got Studio One 3.5 (still on the exponential learning phase), I am using Sonar on this one.

As always comments, crit's, suggestions, etc. will be much appreciated.

Happy holidays all!

Hi Freddy
I like this a lot - the dry vocals really work with it.
The vocals remind me of Tom Petty somehow.
Merry Christmas mate

Hi Daryl.  Thanks for the comments.  I recorded the vox dry and mainly in the mid's as I was trying to get a kind of hollow feeling to the vocals thinking that might add to the "blue" mood of the song.  I hope it worked.  Thanks again.

Thank you Wookiee.  I really liked your most recent post.

Nice one, Freddy.  As always, you set the mood for this so well.  May you be as prolific in the new year as you were this year.

Hey Freddie...long time no see....neat tune....mix is right and its a catchy little number for sure. If i had one lil crit...I'd like to hear just a tad bit of verb...

Merry Christmas bro!

Nice one Freddy! Like the 'wobbly' guitar fills very much. You've done some really nice work this year, Happy Christmas to you and yours!

Hi Lynn.  Thank you for your kind words and encouragement over the past year.  I return the compliment  --  I really have enjoyed the songs that you have posted and look forward to the ones that you will be posting next year.  I hope that you have a very Happy New Year.

Hey Tom.  I'm glad to see you back on the forum.  I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and that all is well with you.  Thank you for your comments.  I have always appreciated your comments and insightful suggestions over the years. As soon as I get the audio interface working on my regular PC (I made the mistake of installing a new !@#*&#@! driver that is causing skips, hiccups, and popping), I'll give another listen and check out adding more verb.  I hope that we will be seeing more of the Distant Tower's songs on the forum in the coming year.  Have a very Happy New Year.

Hi James.  I hope that you had a great Christmas.  Thank you for your kind comments and for your suggestions on my past posts.  I very much appreciate them (I need all the help I can get)!!  I must return the complement, as I have really enjoyed what you have posted during the past year and hope to hear lots more in the coming year.

Hi Bjorn.  Thanks very much.  I too have enjoyed what you have posted -- including the most recent (The Promise You Made).  I hope to listen and enjoy more of your songs next year.  I hope that you have a wonderful New Year.

Some real nice guitar tones in there. I thought the bass playing was particularly good Fred.
